

ADREMED WIND® Hinged Knee Prosthesis
The ADREMED® WIND Hinged Knee Prosthesis is designed to address severe knee conditions, such as ligament deficiency, bone loss, or instability, by providing a stable, hinged mechanism. The prosthesis system includes the following key components:
Femoral Component:
Constructed from durable Cobalt-Chrome-Molybdenum (CoCrMo) alloys, the femoral component caps the end of the femur (thigh bone) and is designed to articulate with the tibial component.
The component features an extended stem that can be inserted into the femur for additional stability, especially in cases where bone quality is compromised.
Tibial Component:
The tibial component includes a tibial base plate . The tibial base is constructed from high-strength metals and is available with different options for stem extensions to enhance fixation in cases of extensive bone loss.
Tibial insert :
typically made from ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) and forms the smooth, articulating surface for the femoral component to hinge upon.
Hinge Mechanism:
A robust and durable hinge mechanism connects the femoral and tibial components, allowing controlled, stable movement even in the absence of key stabilizing ligaments.
The hinge design ensures both flexion and extension of the knee while providing protection from excessive rotational forces that could otherwise destabilize the joint.
Rotating Platform:
The prosthesis includes a rotating platform mechanism that allows controlled rotation of the knee joint, mimicking natural knee movement. This feature reduces the torque transmitted to the bone-implant interface, improving longevity and reducing the ris of implant loosening.
