ADREMED® WIND Bipolar Hip Prosthesis

The ADREMED® WIND Bipolar Hip Prosthesis is a modular system specifically designed to address fractures of the femoral neck and other conditions requiring hip replacement. This prosthesis offers a unique dual articulation mechanism that provides flexibility and reduces the load on both the acetabular and femoral components. The system is composed of the following key components:

Bipolar Head:

The bipolar head features two distinct articulation surfaces: an inner articulation with the femoral head and an outer articulation with the acetabulum. This dual articulation reduces friction between the components, enhancing mobility and decreasing wear.

The outer shell of the bipolar head is constructed from high-strength materials cobalt-chromium alloys, ensuring durability and long-lasting performance.

The inner polyethylene liner offers a smooth, low-friction interface with the femoral head, reducing the generation of wear debris and enhancing the longevity of the implant.

Femoral Stem:

The femoral stem is made from Cobalt-Chrome-Molybdenum (CoCrMo) and is available in both cemented and cementless designs. The cementless option includes a porous coating or hydroxyapatite to promote osseointegration (bone ingrowth) for secure long-term fixation. The stem is designed to provide optimal load distribution, reducing stress on the surrounding bone, which is especially important for elderly patients or those with compromised bone quality.Modular neck lengths allow the surgeon to adjust the hip offset and leg length to achieve proper alignment and balance during surgery.

Features:

Dual Articulation Mechanism: The unique design of the bipolar head allows for two points of articulation—between the femoral head and the inner liner, and between the outer shell and the acetabulum. This reduces the direct load on the acetabulum, which minimizes wear and extends the prosthesis lifespan.

Modular Options: The femoral stem and head are available in multiple sizes and configurations, allowing surgeons to tailor the prosthesis to the specific needs of the patient. This flexibility ensures proper fit and alignment, critical for optimal post-operative outcomes.

Cemented and Cementless Options: The system offers both cemented and cementless femoral stems to accommodate different patient conditions, particularly bone quality. Cementless stems feature porous coatings or hydroxyapatite that encourage bone growth for natural fixation.

ADREMED® WIND Bipolar Hip Prosthesis is an optimal solution for treating hip joint conditions in elderly and high-risk patients. Its dual articulation system ensures stability, reduces wear, and provides long-term functionality, offering significant improvements in patient mobility and quality of life.
